Privacy Policy for Moonbounce Pals

Last updated: August 5th, 2026

Moonbounce Pals is a small, cozy app for staying close with the people you care about. It was built privacy-first: we don't run servers, and we can't see your content. This policy explains what that means in plain language.

Moonbounce Pals is a small, cozy app for staying close with the people you care about. It was built privacy-first: we don't run servers, and we can't see your content. This policy explains what that means in plain language.

The short version

  • We do not operate any servers that store your data.

  • Everything you create — notes, photos, voice notes, drawings, game moves, room decorations — is stored in your own iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit.

  • When you share something with a paired person or a room, Apple syncs it privately between your devices. It never passes through us.

  • We collect anonymous usage analytics to improve the app — no ads, no cross-app tracking, no selling data, and the identifiers are random codes not tied to your identity.

  • We do not operate any servers that store your data.

  • We do not collect analytics, we do not track you, and we do not sell or share your information with anyone.

What the app handles, and where it lives

Moonbounce Pals lets you share things with people you've intentionally paired or joined a room with. Depending on what you use, that can include:

  • Notes and messages you send to your person or room

  • Photos you pin in a shared room or attach to a moment

  • Voice notes you optionally record and send

  • Drawings, decorations, and game activity (e.g. shared board games, plants, keepsakes)

All of this is stored in your iCloud account and shared, when you choose to share it, with the specific people you've paired or grouped with — using Apple's private CloudKit sharing. We never receive, store, or have access to any of it.

Permissions the app may ask for

The app only requests a permission at the moment you use a feature that needs it:

Camera — to take a photo to pin in a room or send as a moment

Photo Library — to pick an existing photo to share or use as a backdrop

Microphone — to record an optional voice note

Notifications — to let you know when your person sends or does something

You can change or revoke any of these at any time in the iOS Settings app. Denying a permission simply disables that one feature.

Your identity

The app identifies you through your iCloud account — there is no separate username, password, or account to create. We do not collect your email, phone number, or contacts.

Sharing and safety

You only exchange content with people you have deliberately paired with (via an invite) or joined a room with. If you ever want to stop:

  • Unpair removes your shared room and everything in it for both people.

  • Leave Room removes you from a group room.

Either action immediately ends the flow of content between you and that person.

Children

Moonbounce Pals is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Data Retention and Deletion

Because your content lives in your own iCloud account, you control it:

  • Unpairing or leaving a room removes the associated shared content.

  • Deleting the app and clearing its iCloud data (via iOS Settings → your name → iCloud) removes your data from your account.

We hold nothing to delete on our end, because we never had it.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change this policy, we'll update the date above and post the new version at this URL.
